Six months prior to March 3, 2011, Ad made her choices. She had a dentist appointment & her dad took her. I met them there. When I got there they were finishing up. I thought that was super fast. I found out Ad was not cooperating. I was kinda pissed by now. If I get on to her it makes a scene and I still don't win. This not only wasted my time but my money. I put my thougths and actions on hold... We schedule her 6 month check up and out we go. She knows... here we go AGAIN.
Ad, I took off work to take you to the dentist and I pay money for you to get your teeth cleaned. Because you chose to NOT have your teeth cleaned and wasted my time and money, YOU CAN NOT HAVE POP OR CANDY UNTIL YOUR 6 MONTH CHECK UP. Genius... now, if I can only stick with it. I told her that she better go make some besties. She was only allowed to have sweets at birthday parties and family get togethers. Other than that NADA.
Note: I can't control what happens at her dads house. Meaning I go get her at 9 a.m. and she has a sucker in her mouth. A sucker so big it would have taken her 100 million licks to get to the center. Out of my control! Eat up because it is not gonna happen at my house.
She was ready to go back to the dentist after she heard my words for the first time. NOPE, remember? She would ask me at least 10 times a month to schedule her a dentist appointment. NOPE, you have to wait. This was hard around Halloween and Valentines, but I stuck to it like glue. All the candy went in the trash!
Ad has the responsibility to check the mail every day. She got the card she has been looking for. A reminder about her 6 month checkup. Oh, SNAP!!!
March 3, 2011, was amazing. We went to the dentist and I didn't say a word. She crawled up in the chair and her teeth were cleaned. Man, that was a lesson learned for me... stick with it and lesson learned for her... momma is not lyin, she means business!!! Now, she had a death grip on the chair. Her eyes were about to pop out of her head when she saw the tools going in her mouth. She also had lock jaw and one bad move and the cute little dental assistant would have been missing some fingers. Other than that easy peasy!
She tells me that she can't wait to go back to see her new friend, Melissa. hmmmm, can we make requests and the destist office? don't think i won't ask...
Actions do speak louder than words!!!
