bribe or incentive?

Skate night at school!!!  That is exactly what I thought...  Glad to see we are on the same page.  With that said, I thought I had lock jaw as I mumbled the words "okay, we can go" and tried to smile from ear to ear.  I should be an actress after that, really!
So, we are there and Ad has fallen about 72 times and not one complaint.  Let me remind you that this child is a princess and this is her world, I am just living in it!  If she wasn't wearing her skinny jeans I probably would have stuffed TP in her trunk to ease the fall.  Seeing how we have to skate in style we are not able to do that. 
I soon realize that this precious little girl is skating alone.  Immediately my heart melts and then *ding* it hits me... Ad skates up and I asked her if she knows the girl in the white skates?  She knew her, and then out of the mouth of babes I hear "mom, she skates slow and I can't help that" and here we go:
Me:  Ad, do you remember your first time skating?
Ad:  yes, but I am better now and I can't help that I am fast {not that fast, but I will let her think that}
Me:  I am not telling you what to do, this is your choice.  If that were me skating and I didn't have any friends it would make my day that you came and asked me to skate.  I would feel very special, and sometimes when we do special things for others we are rewarded for our actions.  NOTICE: that was the bribe!
Ad:  What do I get?
Me:  You get a new friend!!!
I get side tracked and look up to see where she is and make sure she isn't on the ground because that is where she spent most of her 72 times. WOWZERS, she went and asked her to skate!  *sigh* that's my girl!!!  Now, she was behind her and I thought she was going to run her over but she kept at least an inch between them and neither fell.  THANK GOODNESS!  After 1 time around her attention span was done, but that's fine becasue 1 time around is better than none!!!  I was so pleased and off in MY WORLD celebrating, that I didn't realize she was at my side... mom, what are you going to do nice for me since I did something nice?  Maybe I didn't get my point across like I thought?!  But, it was her choice & she made the right choice.  Did I give her an INCENTIVE or did I BRIBE, who knows!  She gave a smile and made a new friend!!!  I will bribe any day or should I say give an incentative, but it will be her choice and now I know she will make the right one!!!  whew, I will have to stock up on sour straws ~hint~hint~
